Welcome to the Arkansas Chapter of the American Planning Association!
President's Message

I am honored to serve as the Chapter President for the Arkansas Chapter of the American Planning Association. I will serve in this role for the next two years. I’d like to thank our past-president, James Walden, AICP, on his leadership, enthusiasm and passion for the planning profession.

Welcome to the official site of the APA Arkansas Chapter! The site has been redesigned to provide a more attractive, feature rich, and easily updateable format. The intent is to create a dynamic site that will better serve the needs and desires of our membership.

The page has many new features, which will be further developed in the coming months. Among the changes will be the ability to register for conferences online, a members’ only section with access to exclusive content, and online forums for connecting with other Arkansas planners. Please feel free to contact the Executive Committee with suggestions on changes and features you would like to see.

Please continue to share the benefits of APA membership with those you think might be interested. Also, share with us what is going on in your community. Let us know what we as a Chapter can do to better serve the Arkansas planning community.

As always, thank you for your time and support of the APA Arkansas Chapter!

About Us

Planning a bright future for Arkansas’s natural and built environment.

The Arkansas Chapter of the American Planning Association is a professional organization representing practicing planners, officials, and citizens involved with urban and rural planning issues within the State of Arkansas.

Our members are involved, on a day-to-day basis, in formulating planning policies and preparing land use regulations. The objective of the Arkansas Chapter is to encourage planning that will contribute to the public well-being by developing communities and environments that more effectively meet the needs of Arkansans.
